HOW HOT ARE WE????????????????????????????????

Sigh. Ok, I just finished watching 6 hours of Pride and Prej (my fav version of my favourite-est book in the whole wide world) and I am in love all over again. Wont say no more. I assume everyone knows what I mean! This scene, this guy, this character, this actor, this book, this.. arggh.. yeah.. years after I still go weak in my knees everytime I see/read of Mr Darcy. And yeah, I do read this book as often as I can.
*makes a mental note to get my book with me to Au when I go back to India next!

Hedonia
How good is the music of Omkara? Ive been listening to it the past two days and am totally blown over by it.. especially the title track. Sukhwinder Singh SO rocks!

My all time Sukhwinder Singh top 5 are:
1. Aaj mera jee karda - Monsoon Wedding
2. Rut Aa Gayi Re - 1947 Earth
3. Chinnama Chirkama - Meenaxi
4. Chaiiya Chaiyya - Dil Se
5. Ghanana Ghan - Lagaan

And then there is Omkara.

What is the Omkara? (Lifted off the net)
Hinduism is a system of belief and from the many excerpts in the Holy Hindu bible BHAGWAD GITA there appears the word Omkara meaning - ' the vehicle to cross the ocean of life ' Crossing this ocean is the journey that the mortal being must undertake in a lifetime and henceforth encounter the three basic elements of mortality - creation, preservation and destruction. The soul is immortal and therefore never ceases to die. The body is mortal and is the vehicle for the soul.
Together they have to cross the ocean of life accompanied by the three gods who are responsible to create, preserve and destroy.
Isnt it brilliant?

I am looking fwd to seeing Omkara. Since a while now. I had seen Maqbool first day and have faith in Vishal B as a brilliant director. I dont have much patience for Shakespearean tragedies and think the men are weak and stupid, but I wont deny that there the truth in the stories holds its weight in 'namak' even today. I remember watching another adaptation on DD one night.. Kaliyattam which is a national award winner I think (which is why it was on DD) and its about the folk dance of Kerala, 'Thayyam'... the guy was SO brilliant as Othello and his wife, Desdemona was BEAUTIFUL. When she tells him how she fell in love with him.. its one of my most favourite romantic moments in film history. But then mum didnt let me see the whole film. So anyways, I am really looking fwd to seeing the film. It looks good.
